So, here are the facts...I have a teenage son who is not in to sports and who would rather spend every waking moment playing Halo Reach and listening to music (currently he is hooked on the new Gorrilaz album.) He is very artistic and is constantly drawing and doodling at school. I'm saving his art for when he is famous...lol!
I'm betting that a lot of people won't care for this page...but this page truly represents my son.
I believe that scrapbooking is not only about beautiful pages but is about representing the person or the picture that you are displaying. And, I couldn't have gotten this one any better for my son and for the year he had last year. I'll do a pretty one next...lol!
Anywhooo...I hope you enjoy it! And, p.s. I LOVE those Souffle 3D pens! I grabbed them at Michaels with my last 50% off coupon!

I blurred out some of the info on his ID card on purpose. I decided that I was going to do a page using the cover from his school planner from last year. I cut it smaller and added a ripped white paper border and inked it with Tim Holtz 'fired brick' Distress Ink. I cut "7th Grade" from Boys Will Be Boys, glued it to another ripped white sheet of paper and then inked them with the same ink (I also added to the arrows with my black Souffle pen.) I cut the notebook paper from Locker Talk, inked it and added my journaling about how K's 7th grade year went (and let me tell you it was an interesting and difficult year...especially to start.) The red line for the notebook paper was too long but I liked it and left it because I was going for an "edgy" feel. I added K's school ID card from last year and then I cut an arrow from Boys Will Be Boys (and ended up cutting it down quite a bit), inked it with the same ink, and then wadded it up in my hands and then flattened it back out. I then added some design doodling in the in between areas and added his favorite bands and games at the time on the arrow (it says Halo3, Fall Out Boy, and Blink 182.) Lastly, I took my new white Souffle 3D pen and wrote the words to his favorite song (from 7th grade) around the border of the page. |

Love that page. Your son sounds exactly like my oldest. Then his brother was so into sports, racing and name brand clothes. Such total opposites!! Fabulous job!!!
I hear you ..my son is 12 years & he plays about the same games too. Way too many hours. Can't wait till basketball starts. It's his life now and you need to preserve it. I agree true colors aren't the greatest LO but it's his life.
This page is STRIKING! I LOVE it!
Somehow it's just so "REAL", and when you look back at it years from now, you won't remember the "pretty" stuff- You get an A++ from me!
I LOVE it! I love pages that are just as much about their life (like a journal) than they are about the photo. When you think about it, it's so important to document that kind of stuff, because, later on in life, that is what you'll forget. I have notes all over my house about my kids, their likes/dislikes etc. All just waiting for me to find time to scrap them! lol Really great job and PERFECT for a teenage boy. A+++ :)
I think this is perfect for a teenager. It definitely represents their personality.
